yellow.jpgJuicy Couture Green Cowhide Leather Fluffy ToteThat’s right, ladies and gents… get out your hot pink, lime green, and tangerine orange clothes, because neons are back! Style.com reports that the trendy colors for the upcoming season are “ultrabright.” So if you want to wear yellow, stick to lemon yellow; if you want to wear violet, stick to a medium purple shade; if you want to wear blue, stick to electric blue. I definitely plan on applying the neon trend to handbags. A bright bag would add a fabulous pop of color to any outfit. Check out this Juicy Couture green handbag, for example!

Marc Jacobs Black Quilted Calf Leather Zip ClutchToday I read an article from the New York Times that discusses the physical injuries involved with carrying around an over-sized handbag.  The author states that big, heavy handbags can lead to bad posture, poor balance, and aching backs, shoulders, necks, and hips.  I do agree that a big handbag can get kind of uncomfortable– after all, the bigger the handbag is, the more stuff you can put in it, and the heavier it becomes.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t own several over-sized bags though! :-D  And for those times when I need something small and lightweight, I grab one of my clutches.  The clutch you see here is from the wonderful Marc Jacobs.

Amanda Bynes Vs. Paris Hilton: Who Wore It Better
I was browsing the Internet today when I came across this “who-wore-it-better” photograph: a side-by-side comparison of two celebrities– Tom Petty and Mischa Barton– wearing fedora hats. Obviously, this picture was put together as a joke, probably for the purpose of making fun of Mischa’s fashion choices. I have to admit, I found it pretty funny… and in my opinion, Tom Petty definitely wore it better! Anyway, moving on to the real “who-wore-it-better” picture… Amanda Bynes and Paris Hilton were recently spotted wearing the same Alice and Olivia dress. Amanda paired the dress with her long, wavy, blonde hair, cute black heels, and a simple black clutch. Paris chose to wear the dress with opaque black tights and black round-toe pumps. Whose style do you prefer?

Kay Unger Multicolored Chiffon Handkerchief DressYet another trend for 2008 is the maxi dress. For those of you who don’t already know, the maxi dress is simply a very long dress– it usually extends to the floor.  The maxi dress can be worn in many variations of colors and prints.  Plus, it’s good for hiding any problem areas!  If you’re not quite ready to wear a floor-length dress, you can try a dress that extends to the calf.  Look at this Kay Unger chiffon handkerchief dress, for example.  It’s cute, colorful, and stylish, but not over-the-top at all.

Casting Tan Sleeveless Peasant TopPenta Pink Silk Chiffon Ruffle CamisoleKay Unger Green and Off-White Crinkle V-Neck Bubble DressThis trend draws on the desires of little girls everywhere.  The ballerina style is light, gentle, and feminine, and includes boatneck tops and floaty dresses and skirts.   Take a look at these flirty tops– a sleeveless peasant top by Casting and a silk chiffon ruffle camisole by Penta.  This Kay Unger v-neck bubble dress is another example of the trendy ballerina style.

Kay Unger Multicolor Splashed Palms Ruched Nylon DressAnother trend of 2008 is safari style.  Go for bold prints– floral prints, animal prints, and so on.  You can also achieve the safari style with wooden jewelry and other organic-looking accessories.  This Kay Unger ruched nylon dress features a palm leaf print in shades of green and brown, which fits this trend perfectly.

Nicole Miller Pink Floral Ruffle Skirt Slip DressWhile browsing the iVillage website today, I came upon a list of the top trends of 2008. First on the list? Vibrant colors. This spring, express yourself in bright oranges, pinks, yellows, greens, blues, violets, and whatever other colors you can think of! For some inspiration, check out this Nicole Miller pink floral slip dress.

Prada Coffee Pebbled Deerskin Large Drawstring Fringe ToteOh, Prada.  You had me from the start.  Just look at your supple leather, your fine craftsmanship, your daring details… It’s no wonder that Prada handbags are so popular!  Fashionistas will love the new drawstring fringe tote– its style is classic and elegant, yet fresh and modern.   I especially like the fringe embellishment and gold-colored hardware.  And best of all: the bag is currently on clearance!

This really has nothing to do with fashion, but I just have to talk about the latest news: Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears’ little sister, is pregnant. Jamie, only 16 years old, is best known for her role on the Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101.” Casey Aldrige, Jamie’s boyfriend from high school, is reportedly the father.  I truly feel bad for the Spears family.  This is a time when they need privacy and support.. but unfortunately, I’m sure that the media will totally take advantage of the pregnancy news and criticize the whole family– Jamie Lynn, Britney, their mother, their father…  What do you think about the news?  Leave us a comment and let us know.  Or maybe you want to take your mind off of the whole things– in that case, take a look at some gorgeous Fendi handbags.

GLT Beige Cable Knit Hat and Scarf Set GLT Red Cable Knit Hat and Scarf Set GLT Pink Cable Knit Hat and Scarf Set New Design Leopard Wraparound Ear Band
Every year, the holidays creep up on me. By the time I realize that Christmas is almost here, it’s December 23rd… which of course leaves me rushing to find gifts up until the last minute possible! This year, however, I vow to be different. I will get my Christmas shopping done ahead of time… and I will not stay up all Christmas Eve wrapping presents. For someone like me, online Christmas shopping is perfect. I love browsing websites at my own leisure, in my own house. And when I decide to buy something, all I have to do is enter in my credit card number and my billing/shipping information– no long lines, no crowded parking lots, no incompetent store employees! So far I’ve found a lot of great options for gifts online. Handbags are always a good choice, since all women could use one. Hats, gloves, and scarves are also great ideas. They are ideal gifts for this time of year, when the weather is cold and snowy (at least here in New York!). But besides being practical, winter gear can also be very stylish. I love this GLT cable knit hat and scarf set– it’s so cute and cozy! And this New Design leopard wraparound ear band is perfect for any fashionista!
