When you’re selecting a handbag, size is a very important factor to consider. An average-sized handbag– like this Fendi spy hobo bag– is perfect for everyday activities, like going to school, work, or the store. Large handbags– like this Fendi tote shopper’s bag– are more suitable for those days when you have a ton of stuff to carry… I tend to carry a large handbag when I go to the beach, for example. Small handbags and clutches should be used for formal events, such as parties (my favorite clutch of the moment is the Gucci Guccissima chain pouch). Amy Winehouse performed at a recent concert for Fendi, in front of a crowd that consisted of Jessica Alba, Sofia Coppola, the Olsen twins, Rihanna, Claudia Schiffer, Kanye West, Karl Lagerfeld, and, of course, Silvia Fendi. The singer rocked her signature beehive hair style and wore a cute black minidress. Winehouse supposedly declared to the audience, “Forgive my ignorance, I don’t know anything about fashion.” But judging from this picture, I think her outfit was pretty cute!

Anyone know what a keffiyeh is? It’s a traditional headdress worn by Arab men. So why, you might ask, is Chris Brown wearing one? Well, we all know that Chris Brown sure as hell isn’t Arab. Some of you may not know, however, that the keffiyeh is actually becoming a trend in Hollywood! Jay-Z and other celebrities have also been seen wearing one. What do you think of the keffiyeh? Is it a cool replacement for a scarf? Or does its political, religious, and cultural meanings outweigh its potential as a fashion trend?

Outstanding Oscar Outfits

Well, the 2008 Oscars have come and gone… but that doesn’t mean that we should stop talking about all the fashion choices from the show! I want to know what you guys think about the red carpet dresses. On the left, we have a photo of Hilary Swank, who wore a one-strap black gown. The gown was embellished with a criss-cross texture, and Hilary chose to wear her hair in a simple up-do. Below, we have a photo of Jennifer Garner. Jennifer also wore a black gown, except hers was strapless and featured ruffles at the bottom. Jennifer also wore her hair up, and she paired the dress with a beautiful diamond necklace. Whose outfit do you like best?

The Dilemma of the Leggings

The idea of leggings seems to evoke either endorsement and adoration or hatred and frustration. Some women swear by leggings– you know, the ones who wear them as pants. Other women won’t go near the things. Personally, I think that leggings can look alright if they are done right. I have to admit that I liked the tube top and leggings outfit that Kevin created on “Project Runway.” But I definitely believe that leggings have been waaaaay overdone! I’ve seen them so much that I would actually rather see someone wearing some super baggy MC Hammer pants. My advice is to stick with regular pants 95% of the time.

Chanel Choco Phone

Chanel has released a cell phone for all the fashionistas out there! When it’s closed, the phone resembles a chocolate bar– looks like a Hershey’s bar to me, except it’s not brown. Rather, the phone is available in white, black, or yellow. Pretty nice! It even has a little Chanel signature charm that dangles on a chain attached to the phone. Only thing that bothers me is the fact that the originality of the “chocolate” phone is questionable. What about the LG Chocolate? Didn’t that come out long before the Choco phone? And aren’t they both based on the same concept…?

Reality Show with Marc Jacobs?

Marc Jacobs has declared that he wants his own reality show. He stated that the show would cover “everything, all aspects of [his] life. All the drama, the intrigue, the sex, the romance, the work.” Sounds like this could be a really interesting show! I would watch it.

Fashion for the Ecologist Within

A few weeks ago, Earth Pledge debuted its FutureFashion show, which featured eco-friendly designs created by top designers from New York, Milan, and Paris. The materials used– all sustainable– included organic wool, organic cotton, sasawashi (a fabric made from bamboo), and pina fiber (made from pineapple extract). Some of the clothes were super cute! I especially like this adorable dress by Rodarte.
