Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse performed at a recent concert for Fendi, in front of a crowd that consisted of Jessica Alba, Sofia Coppola, the Olsen twins, Rihanna, Claudia Schiffer, Kanye West, Karl Lagerfeld, and, of course, Silvia Fendi. The singer rocked her signature beehive hair style and wore a cute black minidress. Winehouse supposedly declared to the audience, “Forgive my ignorance, I don’t know anything about fashion.” But judging from this picture, I think her outfit was pretty cute!

Chanel has released a cell phone for all the fashionistas out there! When it’s closed, the phone resembles a chocolate bar– looks like a Hershey’s bar to me, except it’s not brown. Rather, the phone is available in white, black, or yellow. Pretty nice! It even has a little Chanel signature charm that dangles on a chain attached to the phone. Only thing that bothers me is the fact that the originality of the “chocolate” phone is questionable. What about the LG Chocolate? Didn’t that come out long before the Choco phone? And aren’t they both based on the same concept…?

marc.jpgMarc Jacobs has declared that he wants his own reality show. He stated that the show would cover “everything, all aspects of [his] life. All the drama, the intrigue, the sex, the romance, the work.” Sounds like this could be a really interesting show! I would watch it.

eco.jpgA few weeks ago, Earth Pledge debuted its FutureFashion show, which featured eco-friendly designs created by top designers from New York, Milan, and Paris. The materials used– all sustainable– included organic wool, organic cotton, sasawashi (a fabric made from bamboo), and pina fiber (made from pineapple extract). Some of the clothes were super cute! I especially like this adorable dress by Rodarte.

Marc Jacobs Black Quilted Calf Leather Zip ClutchToday I read an article from the New York Times that discusses the physical injuries involved with carrying around an over-sized handbag.  The author states that big, heavy handbags can lead to bad posture, poor balance, and aching backs, shoulders, necks, and hips.  I do agree that a big handbag can get kind of uncomfortable– after all, the bigger the handbag is, the more stuff you can put in it, and the heavier it becomes.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t own several over-sized bags though! :-D  And for those times when I need something small and lightweight, I grab one of my clutches.  The clutch you see here is from the wonderful Marc Jacobs.

This really has nothing to do with fashion, but I just have to talk about the latest news: Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears’ little sister, is pregnant. Jamie, only 16 years old, is best known for her role on the Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101.” Casey Aldrige, Jamie’s boyfriend from high school, is reportedly the father.  I truly feel bad for the Spears family.  This is a time when they need privacy and support.. but unfortunately, I’m sure that the media will totally take advantage of the pregnancy news and criticize the whole family– Jamie Lynn, Britney, their mother, their father…  What do you think about the news?  Leave us a comment and let us know.  Or maybe you want to take your mind off of the whole things– in that case, take a look at some gorgeous Fendi handbags.

Black Shirt from Brooks BrothersNo, the Brooks Brothers aren’t stripping for a camera or running around topless. But they are doing something considered pretty wild for the conservative company– releasing a black version of their famous Oxford shirt. In all the 189 years that the Brooks Brothers have been in business, they have never offered the classic button-down shirt in black. Times are a-changin’, however, and the new color will be debuted this spring.

Terence Koh in Fendi CoatArtist Terence Koh recently co-hosted the Whitney Gala, at which he wore a $165,000 fur coat that Fendi lent to him. He liked the coat so much that he couldn’t bear to give it back at the end of the event– so he came up with a plan to keep it. Koh made a deal with an art patron, agreeing to produce artwork for her until he has given her a collection equivalent to the value of the coat. Some people will really do anything for fashion…

Stella McCartney has created a new clothing line for Barney’s: a “green” collection, which features pieces that are 100% “organic, ethical, and sustainable.”  Prices for the clothes– which will be availabe in November– will start at around $600.  Hmm.  Those two things don’t seem to go together: ethical, sustainable clothing on one hand; prices of at least $600 on the other.  I always figured that people who are environmentally conscious wouldn’t dare to spend nearly a grand on a single piece of clothing…
